Musee de Tahiti et des iles opened its doors on the 7th March 1974. On the 30th March 1977, three out of four permanent exhibition rooms were opened to the public, before opening completely on the 30th June 1979.
The Paul Gauguin Museum is located on the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia. It is a small museum dedicated to the life and works of the famous French artist Paul Gauguin, who lived and worked in French Polynesia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
